Send free invitations

In this article: How to send invitations that let people enroll in your course for free, bypassing the payment process entirely. Core Pro

Invitations let you enroll someone in your course without them going through checkout. The invited person receives an email with a link. They click it, create an account (or log in if they already have one), and they're in. No payment required.

This is useful when you want to give free access to specific people:

Beta testers trying your course before you open it to paying students
Colleagues or collaborators who need to review the content
Scholarship students or contest winners
Students who paid outside Ruzuku (through a separate invoice, in person, or through another tool)
Friends and family you want to let in during a soft launch

Invitations are available on Core and Pro plans.

Send invitations

Open your course and go to Manage Course → Invitations (in the Sales & Signups column).
Click Invite students.
Enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas, spaces, or new lines. To invite a list, click load a CSV file instead.
Click Send invitations. The button shows how many you're sending, for example Send 3 invitations.

Ruzuku sends each person an email with a unique enrollment link. When they click it, they're enrolled in the course immediately.

You can invite up to 1,000 people at a time. If an address belongs to someone who's already enrolled or already invited, Ruzuku skips it and tells you.

Tip: Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) anywhere in your course to open the Manage Course menu.

Tip: Give your invited students a heads-up before you send the invitation. A quick personal message like "I'm sending you access to my new course — check your email for a link from Ruzuku" helps them watch for it and avoids the invitation ending up in spam.

What the invited person receives

The invitation email includes:

Your course name
A unique enrollment link tied to their specific email address
Instructions to click the link and create a Ruzuku account (or log in if they already have one)

After clicking the link, they land inside your course and can start immediately. They'll also get the same welcome email that any enrolled student receives.

Invitation security

Each invitation is unique to the email address you sent it to. The enrollment link only works for that specific person. They can't forward the link to someone else and have it work for a different email address.

This means you control exactly who gets free access. There's no risk of an invitation link being shared publicly and letting unintended people in.

View and manage sent invitations

To see all the invitations you've sent:

Go to Manage Course → Invitations.
You'll see each invitation's email address and its status: Pending or Accepted.

To resend or remove invitations, check the box next to each one, then click:

Resend to send the email again, for example if the person didn't receive it
Remove to cancel a pending invitation. Its enrollment link stops working.

Accepted invitations can't be removed, because the person is already enrolled. To remove an enrolled student, use Manage Course → Students. See Remove a Student from a Course.

Invitation limits

Invitations are available on Core and Pro plans only. Free accounts do not have access to invitations.

For new accounts, Ruzuku applies a temporary sending limit of 25 invitations per day for the first month or so. This helps prevent spam. After that initial period, the daily limit is removed automatically. If you need to invite more students before the limit lifts, email support@ruzuku.com and we'll increase it for you.

Tip: If you need to enroll a large group at once (for example, enrolling a corporate team of 20 people), you can paste all their email addresses at once or upload a CSV file. You can send up to 1,000 invitations at a time.

When to use invitations vs. other enrollment methods

Ruzuku offers several ways to enroll students. Here's how invitations compare:

Paid price point	You want students to pay and enroll through your sales page
Coupons	You want to offer a discount or 100% off code that students enter at checkout

Invitations and free price points both give free access, but they work differently. Invitations go to specific email addresses you choose. A free price point is open to anyone who visits your sales page. Use invitations when you want to control who gets in. Use a free price point when you want open access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I revoke an invitation after sending it?

Yes, as long as the person hasn't accepted it yet. Go to Manage Course → Invitations, check the box next to the invitation, and click Remove. The enrollment link in their email will stop working. If they've already accepted and enrolled, you can't remove the invitation. To remove them from the course, go to Manage Course → Students instead.

What if the person already has a Ruzuku account?

That's fine. When they click the invitation link, they'll be prompted to log in with their existing account. After logging in, they're enrolled in the course. They don't need to create a new account.

Is there a limit to how many invitations I can send?

New accounts have a temporary limit of 25 invitations per day for about the first month. After that, there's no daily limit. You can send up to 1,000 invitations at a time and up to 20,000 per course. If you need the daily limit lifted sooner, just email support@ruzuku.com.
