Use the course calendar
In this article: How to open the Calendar view and use it to schedule meetings, messages, and module release dates for your course. All Plans
Before You Start
The Calendar gives you a visual overview of everything scheduled in your course: messages going out to students, live meetings, and (for drip-release courses) module release dates. It's the easiest way to plan your course timeline and make sure nothing overlaps or gets missed.
Open the Calendar
- Open your course and press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to open the Manage Course menu.
- Click Calendar in the Content column.

You'll see a calendar view showing any existing scheduled messages, meetings, and modules.
Schedule a Message from the Calendar
Messages are email notifications sent to all enrolled students. Here's how to add one directly from the calendar:
- Hover over the date you want to schedule the message for. A + icon appears.
- Click the + and select Message.
- Enter a subject line and your message text.
- To change the send date or time, click the date and time shown at the bottom. A calendar picker appears where you can adjust both.
- Click Schedule Message.

Schedule a Meeting from the Calendar
Meetings are live sessions your students can join. Here's how to add one:
- Hover over the date and click the + icon.
- Select Meeting.
- Enter a meeting title, set the date, time, and duration.
- Choose a meeting type:
- Video Conference (Ruzuku-hosted, everyone can share audio and video)
- Presentation (Ruzuku-hosted, only you share audio and video)
- Zoom (uses your connected Zoom account)
- External (any other conferencing tool, like Google Meet)
- Click Save.

Schedule Module Release Dates
If your course uses a drip-release format (Calendar-Based Release Dates or Individual Release Dates), you'll see an additional option to schedule module releases from the calendar.
- Hover over the date and click the + icon.
- Select the module you want to release on that date.

This option only appears for courses set to a drip-release course type. If you don't see it, check your course type under Choose the right course type.
