Schedule meetings and messages
In this article: How to use the calendar in a scheduled course to manage module release dates, live meetings, and course-wide messages. All Plans
When you run a scheduled (Calendar-Based Release) or individual drip course, the calendar becomes your planning hub. It shows when modules unlock for students, when meetings are scheduled, and when messages go out. Everything lives in one view so you can see the full shape of your course at a glance.
This video walks through the entire process of managing a scheduled course, including modules, meetings, and messages:
Access the calendar
- Open your course and go to Manage Course → Calendar.
- You'll see a calendar view with your module release dates, scheduled meetings, and planned messages mapped out.
The calendar is available in both Calendar-Based Release and Individual Release course types. It's only visible in the Guide (editor) view — students don't see this calendar.
Schedule module release dates
In a scheduled course, each module has a release date that controls when students can access it. You set these dates when you create your modules, and the calendar shows them all at once so you can see how the content flows.
For example, if you're running a 6-week coaching program, you might release one module per week. The calendar makes it easy to confirm the timing looks right before your course goes live.
Schedule a meeting
From the calendar, you can add live meetings to specific dates. Meetings show up as events on the calendar and trigger notifications to enrolled students.
For full details on meeting types (Video Conference, Presentation, Zoom, External, In-Person) and configuration options, see Manage course meetings.
Schedule a message
Course-wide messages are emails sent to all enrolled students. You can schedule these from Manage Course → Messages and they'll appear on the calendar at their scheduled send time.
Messages are great for:
- Reminding students about an upcoming live session
- Encouraging progress at the midpoint of your course
- Sharing a resource or update between modules
For details on creating messages, see Schedule course-wide messages.
