Before You Start
Copying a lesson is useful when you want to reuse content across modules or courses without rebuilding it from scratch. For example, you might copy a welcome lesson into multiple courses, or duplicate a lesson template you want to adapt for a new module. The original lesson stays exactly where it is.
Copy a Lesson
- Go to your My Courses page and open the course that contains the lesson you want to copy.
- Navigate to the lesson outline and find the lesson you want to copy. Click it to open it.

- At the bottom of the lesson page, click Copy from the dark gray toolbar.

- Choose where to place the copy: the current course or search for another course in your account. You can also rename the copied lesson here.

- Select the module where you want the copied lesson to go.

- When the copy finishes, you'll see a "Copy complete" confirmation.
Tip: To copy an entire module (with all its lessons), use the copy module option in the Modules & Lessons outline instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does copying a lesson affect the original?
No. The original lesson stays unchanged. The copy is a completely independent version that you can edit without affecting the source.
Are discussion posts and student submissions copied too?
No. Only the lesson content is copied (text, media, settings). Student activity like discussion posts and assignment submissions are not carried over.
Can I copy a lesson from someone else's course?
You can only copy lessons from courses in your own account. If you need to transfer content between accounts, contact support@ruzuku.com for help.
