When you'd copy a course between accounts

As a Pro site Admin, you sometimes need to move a course from one person's account to another. Common scenarios:

  • An instructor leaves and you need to hand their course to a new Guide.
  • You've built a template course in your own account and want to give it to an instructor to customize.
  • You're reorganizing which Guide owns which courses.

Copying creates a full duplicate of the course in the destination account. The original course stays in the source account.

How to copy a course to another account

  1. Click your profile photo or initials in the top-right corner and select Manage Site.
  2. Click Courses.
  3. Find the course you want to copy and click on its title.
  4. Click Copy Course.
  5. Type the name or email address of the account you want to copy the course into.
  6. Click OK to confirm.

The copied course appears in the other account with all content intact. The instructor can then customize it as their own.

Tip: The copy includes course content (modules, lessons, and files) but does not carry over student enrollments or payment data. The destination account gets a fresh copy ready for their own students.
Note: You need Admin access to use this feature. Guides can copy their own courses within their account, but only Admins can copy courses across different accounts on the site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does copying a course move the students too?
No. The copy only includes the course structure and content (modules, lessons, files). Student enrollments and payment history stay with the original course.
Can I copy a course to a Student account?
No. The destination account needs to be a Guide or Admin, since only those roles can own and manage courses. If you need to copy to someone who currently has a Student role, change their role to Guide first.
Is the original course affected?
No. The original course remains untouched in the source account. Copying creates an independent duplicate.
