When you'd edit a user profile

As a Pro site Admin, you may need to update a user's profile on their behalf. Common situations:

A student changed their email address and needs it updated.
You need to correct a name or fill in missing profile fields.
A user is having trouble updating their own account and needs your help.

How to edit a user profile

Click your profile photo or initials in the top-right corner and select Manage Site.
Click People.
Search for the user by name or email address.
Click Edit profile next to their name. This logs you into their account using the Mimic feature.

Make your changes to any of the profile fields (name, email, etc.).
Click Update at the bottom of the form to save.

When you're done, click the green Stop Mimicking button in the top-right corner to return to your own account.

Note: If you see an error when updating a user's email address, it usually means that email is already associated with another account on your site. Contact support@ruzuku.com if you need help resolving a duplicate email situation.

Can I edit a user's profile without mimicking their account?

No. Editing a profile requires mimicking the user's account first. The "Edit profile" button automatically starts a mimic session so you can make changes as if you were logged in as that user.

Will the user know I edited their profile?

No notification is sent when you mimic or edit a profile. If you change something significant like their email address, you should let them know directly.

Can I change a user's password this way?

Yes. While mimicking the user, you can access their account settings and update the password. Send them the new password so they can log back in.
