Allow students to purchase gift certificates

Gift certificates let someone purchase your course for another person. The buyer pays, and the recipient gets an enrollment link they can use to access the course. This works well around holidays, for corporate training situations, or any time someone wants to give the gift of learning.

Gift purchases are available on Single Payment price points only. Payment plans and subscriptions don't support gift certificates.

Enable gift certificates on a price point

Open your course and go to Manage Course → Price Points.
Click the Single Payment price point where you want to enable gifts.
Click Edit Price Point.
Check the box for Allow gift purchases.
Save your changes.

That's it. Students visiting your enrollment page now see the option to buy the course as a gift.

What the buyer sees

When a student visits your enrollment page for a price point with gift purchases enabled, they see a Purchase as a gift option alongside the regular enrollment button.

The buyer enters their own payment information and the recipient's email address. After the purchase, the recipient receives an email with a link to enroll in the course.

Enable gifts on multiple price points

You need to enable gift purchases on each price point individually. If you have several Single Payment price points and want gifts available on all of them, repeat the steps above for each one.

This gives you control over which price points offer the gift option. For example, you might enable it on your full-price option but not on a discounted early-bird price.

Does the gift purchase option work with payment plans or subscriptions?

No. Gift certificates are only available on Single Payment price points. The buyer pays the full amount at once, and the recipient receives access to the course.

What happens if the recipient already has a Ruzuku account?

The recipient can use their existing account to redeem the gift. They click the enrollment link in the email, log in, and get access to the course.

Can I see who purchased a gift and who received it?

Yes. Both the buyer and the recipient appear in your student list. The buyer's payment shows up under their account, and the recipient is enrolled in the course.

Is the gift option enabled by default?

No. You need to manually enable gift purchases on each price point where you want to offer it. This lets you control exactly which pricing options include the gift feature.
