Choose your Ruzuku plan

In this article: A straightforward comparison of Ruzuku's three plans — Free, Core, and Pro — with feature details and guidance on which plan fits where you are in your course business. All Plans

The three plans at a glance

Ruzuku has three plans. All three include zero transaction fees, so you keep 100% of your course revenue (minus standard Stripe or PayPal processing fees).

Free Core Pro
Monthly price $0 $99/mo $199/mo
Annual price $0 $997/yr (save ~16%) $1,997/yr (save ~16%)
Student limit 5 students total Unlimited Unlimited
Courses Unlimited Unlimited Unlimited
Transaction fees 0% 0% 0%
File upload size 2 GB per file 2 GB per file 4 GB per file

The core question: Free is for testing the platform, Core is for running your course business, and Pro is for scaling with advanced branding and multi-instructor features.

What's included on every plan

Before comparing the differences, here's what you get on all plans, including Free:

  • Unlimited courses (Free plan limits students, not courses)
  • Course content: modules, lessons, text, video, audio, files
  • Built-in live meetings (Video Conference for up to 60, Presentation for up to 250)
  • Zoom integration
  • Discussions and community features
  • Assessments, quizzes, and assignments
  • Scheduled messages
  • Sales pages
  • Price points (free, single payment, payment plan, subscription)
  • Coupons and discounts
  • Upsells (up to 3 on Core, unlimited on Pro)
  • Course bundles
  • Affiliates
  • Gift certificates
  • Stripe and PayPal integration
  • Zapier integration
  • Course launch checklist
  • Email support

That's a lot of functionality before you pay a dollar. The Free plan is genuinely useful for testing everything out with a small group.

Plan-by-plan breakdown

Free — test the platform, teach a small group

The Free plan lets you create courses and use nearly every feature. The only hard limit: 5 total student enrollments across all your courses.

Free is right for you if:

  • You want to explore Ruzuku before committing
  • You're building out your course content and want to preview it
  • You're running a small pilot with a handful of beta testers
  • You teach a tiny group (a private mastermind, a small team) and don't need to scale

What you can't do on Free: Enroll more than 5 students or send invitations. Those are the only functional limits. Everything else works.

Tip: Use the Free plan to build your entire course, set up your sales page, and configure payments. When you're ready to open enrollment beyond 5 students, upgrade to Core. You won't lose any of your work.

Core ($99/mo or $997/yr) — run your course business

Core removes the student limit. You get unlimited students, unlimited courses, and everything you need to run a real course business.

Core is right for you if:

  • You're selling courses and need to enroll more than 5 students
  • You're running one or several courses as a solo creator
  • You want full access to marketing tools (upsells, bundles, affiliates, coupons)
  • You don't need custom branding, custom domains, or multi-instructor management

What Core adds over Free:

  • Unlimited students and enrollments
  • Up to 3 upsells per course checkout

What Core doesn't include: Custom domain, custom branding, certificates of completion, custom profile fields, custom terminology, AI transcripts/captions, multi-instructor management, digital products, storefront, or site-wide data downloads. Those are Pro features.

Pro ($199/mo or $1,997/yr) — scale and brand your platform

Pro is for creators who want their learning platform to look and feel like their own. It adds advanced branding, certificates, multi-instructor management, and tools for running a larger operation.

Pro is right for you if:

  • You want your courses on your own domain (yourdomain.com instead of courses.ruzuku.com)
  • You need certificates of completion for your students
  • You manage multiple instructors, coaches, or facilitators
  • You're building a branded learning platform for an organization or team
  • You sell digital products alongside courses
  • You want a storefront to showcase all your offerings

What Pro adds over Core:

  • Custom domain
  • Custom branding with multiple brand options
  • Certificates of completion
  • Custom profile fields for enrollment
  • Custom terminology (rename "Course," "Module," "Lesson," etc.)
  • AI-powered video transcripts and captions
  • Digital products (sell files, templates, downloads)
  • Storefront
  • Multi-instructor and admin management
  • Mimic/impersonate user accounts
  • Site-wide data downloads
  • 4 GB file upload limit (vs. 2 GB on Core)
  • Unlimited upsells (vs. 3 on Core)

Choosing based on your stage

Just getting started

Start with the Free plan. Build your course, test the platform, invite a few beta students, and see how everything works. You can create your content, set up payments, and design your sales page without paying anything.

When you're ready to sell to more than 5 students, upgrade to Core.

Selling your first course

Core is where most creators land. It gives you everything you need to sell courses, manage students, run live sessions, and grow your audience. If you're a solo creator running one to several courses, Core covers it.

Running a branded platform or organization

Move to Pro when you need your own domain, certificates, or the ability to manage multiple instructors. Pro is common among:

  • Coaches and consultants who want their platform to match their brand
  • Training organizations that issue certificates
  • Teams with multiple facilitators who each manage their own courses
  • Businesses selling digital products alongside courses

Upgrading and downgrading

You can change your plan at any time from your account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately. When you downgrade, you keep access to your current plan's features until the end of your billing period.

To change your plan:

  1. Click your profile photo in the top right and go to Account Settings.
  2. Navigate to the Billing section.
  3. Select the plan you want to switch to.

Your existing courses, students, and content stay exactly as they are when you change plans. Nothing is deleted or disrupted.

Note: If you downgrade from Pro and you're using Pro-only features (custom domain, certificates, custom terminology), those features will stop working on the lower plan. Your configuration is saved, so if you upgrade back to Pro later, everything is restored.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I try Pro features before upgrading?
Contact support@ruzuku.com to ask about a Pro trial. The team can help you test Pro features to see if they're right for your needs.
Does the annual plan lock me in for a full year?
The annual plan is billed once per year. You get a significant discount compared to monthly billing (~16% savings). If you cancel, you keep access through the end of your paid year.
Do I lose my courses or students if I downgrade?
No. Your courses, students, content, and settings all stay intact. The only change is that Pro-only features stop working on a lower plan. If you later upgrade again, those features re-activate with your previous settings.
Is there a student limit on Core or Pro?
No. Both Core and Pro support unlimited students and unlimited courses. The only student limit is on the Free plan (5 students total).
Does Ruzuku charge transaction fees on any plan?
No. Ruzuku charges 0% transaction fees on all plans, including Free. You only pay standard processing fees from Stripe or PayPal (around 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction). Every dollar of your course price goes to you, minus the processor's fee.
What if I only need one Pro feature, like certificates?
Pro features are bundled together — there's no way to add individual Pro features to a Core plan. But at $100/mo more than Core, most creators who need even one Pro feature find the full Pro package worthwhile because of the other features they end up using (custom branding, custom domain, multi-instructor, etc.).
