Fix email delivery issues
In this article: What to do when you are not receiving course emails, enrollment confirmations, or message notifications from Ruzuku.
All Plans
Ruzuku sends emails for things like enrollment confirmations, password resets, instructor messages, and discussion notifications. If those emails are not showing up, the issue is almost always a spam filter or notification setting. Here is how to fix it.
Check your spam and junk folders
This is the most common cause. Email providers sometimes filter messages from new senders into spam.
- Open your email and look in your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folder.
- Search your entire mailbox for "ruzuku" to catch emails that may have been filtered.
- If you find a Ruzuku email in spam, mark it as Not Spam (or Not Junk). This tells your email provider to deliver future messages to your inbox.
Whitelist Ruzuku email addresses
Adding Ruzuku's email addresses to your contacts or safe sender list prevents future emails from being filtered. Add both of these addresses:
- support@ruzuku.com (support emails and password resets)
- noreply@ruzuku.com (course notifications, enrollment confirmations, and instructor messages)
How to add a safe sender depends on your email provider:
- Gmail: Open a Ruzuku email (or create a new contact), click the sender name, and click Add to Contacts. You can also drag a message from Spam or Promotions into your Primary inbox.
- Outlook / Hotmail: Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email and add the addresses above to your Safe senders list.
- Yahoo Mail: Open a Ruzuku email, click the three dots, and select Add sender to contacts.
- Apple Mail / iCloud: Add the addresses to your Contacts app. iCloud also lets you add safe senders under iCloud Settings > Mail > Blocked.
If you use a different email provider, search for "add safe sender" plus your provider name for specific steps.
Check your notification settings
Ruzuku lets you control which course emails you receive. You may have turned notifications off without realizing it.
- Open your course on Ruzuku.
- Click the gear icon (Course Preferences) in the course menu.
- Review your email notification settings. Make sure the notifications you want are toggled on.
- Click Save Changes.
Notification settings are per course. If you are enrolled in multiple courses, check each one.
For full details, see Change email notification preferences.
Confirm you are using the right email address
If you enrolled with one email address but are checking a different inbox, the emails are going to the right place. You are just looking in the wrong one.
- Go to courses.ruzuku.com and sign in.
- Click your photo or initials at the top right, then click Account.
- Check the email address listed on your account. That is where Ruzuku sends all your emails.
If the email address on your account is wrong, see Change your email address.
Contact your instructor
Some emails come directly from your instructor rather than from Ruzuku's system. If you are missing a specific message your instructor mentioned sending, let them know. They can confirm whether the message was sent and resend it if needed.
