Keyboard shortcuts and quick actions

In this article: A quick reference for all keyboard shortcuts in Ruzuku, including the command palette for fast navigation and lesson editor shortcuts. All Plans

Navigate Faster with Shortcuts

Ruzuku keeps shortcuts minimal by design — most things are just a click or two away. The one shortcut worth memorizing is Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux), which opens the command palette. Everything else follows standard editing conventions you already know.

The Command Palette (Cmd/Ctrl+K)

The command palette gives you one-click access to every section of course management. Instead of navigating menus, press one shortcut and jump straight to where you need to go.

  1. Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) from anywhere inside a course.
  2. Browse the menu or type in the search bar to filter items.
  3. Click an item or use the arrow keys and Enter to go there.

The palette is organized into four columns:

Content — Course Dashboard, Modules & Lessons, Calendar, Style, Messages, Meetings, Certificate

Sales & Signups — Price Points, Coupons, Sales page, Invitations, Profile fields

Student Support — Students, Review Assessments, Discussion Categories

Actions — Course Settings, Rename course, Copy course, Archive course, Delete course

Tip: The search bar at the top filters as you type. If you want to get to your Sales page quickly, press Cmd/Ctrl+K and type "sales" — it narrows right down.

Lesson Editor Shortcuts

When you're editing a lesson, these standard shortcuts work:

Shortcut

Action

Cmd/Ctrl+S

Save your changes

Cmd/Ctrl+Z

Undo your last edit

Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z

Redo (reverse an undo)

Delete

Remove selected media (video, audio, image, or file)

These shortcuts work in the lesson editor and in discussion/comment editors where applicable.

Tip: Ruzuku auto-saves your lesson content periodically, but pressing Cmd/Ctrl+S gives you peace of mind that your latest changes are saved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the command palette work on mobile?
The command palette is designed for desktop and laptop keyboards. On mobile devices, use the course sidebar navigation to move between modules and lessons.
Can I customize keyboard shortcuts?
Ruzuku doesn't currently support custom keyboard shortcuts. The shortcuts listed here are built into the platform and follow standard conventions (Cmd/Ctrl+S to save, Cmd/Ctrl+Z to undo) so they feel familiar.
Why doesn't Cmd/Ctrl+K work on my course homepage?
The command palette opens when you're inside a course — meaning you've clicked into a course from your course list. If you're on your main Ruzuku dashboard (the course list), click into a course first, then try Cmd/Ctrl+K.
Is there a shortcut to create a new lesson or module?
There isn't a keyboard shortcut for creating lessons or modules. Go to Manage Course → Modules & Lessons and click Add Module or Add Lesson. You can also use the command palette (Cmd/Ctrl+K) to jump to the modules and lessons section quickly.
