Transfer or move a course to another account
In this article: Your options for moving a course to a different Ruzuku account — what you can do yourself and what requires support help. All Plans
Sometimes you need to move a course from one Ruzuku account to another. Maybe you're consolidating accounts, handing off a course to a co-instructor, or leaving an organization. Here's what's possible.
Copy a course within your account
If you just need a duplicate in the same account, you can do this yourself on any plan.
- Go to your Courses page.
- Click the gear icon on the course card.
- Click Copy Course.
- Name the copy and choose whether to bring over the sales page, price points, and coupons.
- Click Copy Course.
The copy includes all modules, lessons, and content. Students are not copied — you start with a clean enrollment.
For full details, see Copy a course.
Copy a course to another account (Pro)
On Ruzuku Pro, site admins can copy a course from one instructor's account to another.
- Go to Manage Site → Courses.
- Find the course and click its title.
- Click Copy Course.
- Enter the name or email of the destination account.
- Confirm.
The copy appears in the other account with all content intact. The original stays in the source account.
What copies: Modules, lessons, text, video, audio, and files. Course structure and settings.
What doesn't copy: Student enrollments, payment records, discussion posts, and assignment submissions. The destination account gets a fresh course ready for their own students.
For full details, see Copy courses from one account to another.
Merge two accounts into one
If you have two Ruzuku accounts under different email addresses and want to combine them, this is not self-service. Contact support@ruzuku.com.
Include in your email:
- Both email addresses
- Which account you want to keep as your primary
- Which courses need to move
The support team can consolidate your accounts and move courses to the one you want to keep. They typically respond within a few hours (M-F 10am-6pm ET).
Transfer course ownership to another person
Transferring a course to someone else's account is not self-service. Contact support@ruzuku.com and explain the situation.
Common scenarios:
- You're leaving an organization and handing off your courses to another instructor
- A co-instructor is taking over a course you built
- You hired someone to build a course in their account and want to move it to yours
The support team can help with the transfer. What they'll need: both account email addresses, the course name, and a confirmation from both parties if the accounts belong to different people.
What transfers and what doesn't
| Can transfer | Cannot transfer | |
|---|---|---|
| Course content | Modules, lessons, text, video, audio, files | — |
| Course structure | Settings, access format, style | — |
| Sales page | Copied with course (optional) | — |
| Student enrollments | Case by case (contact support) | Not via self-service copy |
| Payment history | — | Stays in the original Stripe/PayPal account |
| Student progress | — | Does not transfer |
| Discussion posts | — | Stay with the original course |
The key thing to know: content and structure travel easily. Student data and payment history do not, because they're tied to the original course instance and payment processor account.
